However, Mystykracer...from 3 years in...pay is between $66-76K gross, for company driver. 66 being nothing more than dedicated.....76 being everything and knowing how to run! Also, counts for layover, demurge, etc.

 

where the heck did you sit at for 22 hours? I have a friend out of my terminal that was at some plant in Augusta for about 22 hours! So far, Stepan in Elwood has been my longest...clocking in at 10 hours! NOTHING and I mean NOTHING went right on that run! lol smdh But, I know, guys that I do run into/talk with out of High Point always ask if I've had a 'magical day' yet? It's going to happen sometime or another. Like, the other night. SHORT and I mean SHORT run from Hopewell, VA to Raeford, NC....everyone is always back that night....not me! Past 2 times I haven't even made it close to home for a whole 217 mile run!

 

That would be about twice what I'm making now at my crappy IT support job. I'm looking forward to getting on the road!

 

wow, really?! I knew some people in IT making around 50-60K a year....this was also about 15 years ago too(haha). If you're new.....just make sure you have the mentality of being alone all the time. Some days it really CAN wear on you(especially if you just came off a really good vacation with fam)....but most days it doesn't.

 

Just going off of what Walt told me. He said to not park at those! His exact words were, 'you're only, really, allowed to park at a truck safe haven, rest areas, weigh stations, truckstops. If something happens at somewhere other than those(walmart, etc) you'll get terminated!' Plus, you know how much people like to 'snitch' now.

 

Yeah, I keep to myself as well...however, they are out there, man! haha Great example is I ran from Shreveport down 49 to 10. I was really low on hours(8 hour break)...so I found a nice off/on ramp and took a 30. Next thing I know, I get a call asking if I was broke down? I just said I was taking a 30...and got the ok...someone called and said you were broke down or taking a 10 hour break. Nobody stopped or anything...and no 'no parking' signs...kind of ticked me off!
