I don’t see why that won’t work, but I’m having a hard time figuring out exactly what you did besides add that block. Did you have to remove any block material?

 

Added a block above AND below the piece that broke off ( two pieces ) and the through bolts support the weight of the oil pump now and brace it in place. The bottom picture shows the upper block.

 

Moose covered it.

The only hangup I had was that the longer block on the bottom was a bit wider than the machined portion of the oil pump where the bolts go. Some careful trimming with a die grinder made it fit.

And Cat specified the bolts and one of them was half an inch too short so I had to get one out of the bolt bin.

Tell you what, if you like good spicy horseradish on your super beef sandwich- stop here and get some horseradish to go and go somewhere else for the rest. I was hungry as hell, and it was a solid 3.5/10.

 

Oh I see it now. I just wasn’t looking in the right spot. It’s a problem I routinely have. Just ask my wife....

@sawmill is this a common deal with Cats? Is the block weak right there or does the bolt loosen and make it break?
