Well being that you’re asking for someone else; I asked someone else:
He said no friend of mine woulda jumped onto a road with a known scale right away, whether open or closed. And I have to agree with him. If you’re 7k over or completely legal either.

We went out to a airshow today n seen some hot dogging. Then went out for tacos.

You know I am a firm believer on using a battery tenders now . Bet we all can agree most motorcycle or lawn mower battery dont last long. My harley is a 08 and had its second battery because of it.

With the 5th wheel all the way back the steers are light, The jack takes the trailer weight off the 5th wheel allowing it to slide easier. When the steers are off the scale, stabbing the brakes starts the 5th wheel to sliding forward, adding weight to the steers and taking it off the drives as you roll across the scale. Or something like that.

You might be able to shift 5,000 lbs to the steers and hide it depending on the setup. Sounds like alot of trouble to me LOL. My luck the rope or jack would get caught in the drive shaft and snap, leaving the jack on the plate, which I subsequently drive over while all the DOT guys and the driver behind me laugh their ##### off and take pictures with their I-phones and post to TTR. This is assuming none of them see the bottle jack sitting there on the frame when I drive in front of them.

That extra 50 cwt better be paying alot.

Not to mention the jack dangling from the rope or the trailer slamming the fifth wheel stops or the visual of the trailer moving right in front of the scale house.
