Can't trust a man that would rent pigs! Or wear a chamber pot for a hat.

Why hell yes Woodrow I'm ready, don't I look ready?

Not verbatim, but I do like the movie.

I believe they ran heavy because there was money in it and still is if you can handle the risk. I just don’t buy the lunch counter stories like this one. Did someone try it? Probably was it common? I highly doubt it.

Heard a story years ago about a fella that always used to take two coils out of PA on a three legged teeter totter trailer.

Double payday. Of course now you need fake bills and hope the DOT cops can’t tell what size coils you have.

And hope they don’t have a full plate instead of just an axle

Well then there was no cameras and scales were not as wide to fit a tandem. And well lubed and quickness was the key. This is at a time passed. In the early 60's of the Ohio turnpike they knew that the scales couldn't fit a Canadian tandem to weigh at once. Lot of them moved the drives apart so only one axle fit at a time too.

I wonder if a '17 Peterbilt has the same monitor. That parking lot I drove for 2 years would have a faint beep every now and again and I could never figure out where it was coming from.

I dont disagree with the nav statement. Its not the best one they've had but it isnt a bad system. Only real complaint is that I cant poi search while rolling like I could the older system. But its got digital gauges built into that system if you so chose to use them.

But it’s not about fitting a tandem, the idea is that when the truck tandems go across the weights on the trailer, after the tractor is off and before the trailer came on you slid the trailer up and dropped the jack to transfer weight. Scales have always been right in front of the scale house and the scale master watching. No way you could slide a trailer without being seen especially after they catch on. It’s a good story but that’s it.
