Let me try to clear things up a little bit. By no means are the hiring events a training. They are hosted by CDT's and Saftey managers but, they are just observing you while you're driving, backing, and doing your pre-trip. At the end of the first day they break everyone in groups and they do what they call "expectations" basically showing you what they are looking for in the pre-trip and backing. I never once heard anyone down there being helped along during the event. It's basically a week long interview. They know people get nervous and will make mistakes the first couple of days. We had a 20+ year driver who was with the company but left when Greg came in and did his changes. Missed the welcome back program and went through onboarding as if he has never worked here before. The first day he hit a trailer. First time is over 20 years he said he did it. But you know what, he got another chance. With the old way he would have been done on the spot. And he acknowledged that he used to think the events were a training camp for new drivers. He was glad he had one more chance. Over all what I got out of the event was they are looking for progress from day one until day three. Pay attention during expectations and do it the "Walmart" way and you'll be fine.

theres just one problem. the walmart way is too not hit anything. i thank some of these drivers are telling to much. i had a gold badge driver once tell me. carry a black perm marker with you. if you put a little scrape on the trailer. put a x by it and write a store and date. then spit on it and rub it some to make look old. he said its the only way to survive here.

We just had 4 6/3's come open for bid and one 5 day single truck Thursday out. I'd like the 5 day single truck but I imagine the seniority will jump on that in a moment. Most of the guys at my dc are on programs already. Ya never know when a program comes up who will get it that's why I always bid who knows
