I think the main problem is that nobody believes in anything being larger than themselves these days. Which is both healthy unhealthy, at the same time.

Jobs, no matter how much they pay, are still just jobs to a lot of people now.

If it pays $20 an hour to start, it may as well pay $20 an hour forever.

I made $9.50 part time in Philadelphia....if you wanted the job you will make it work. Just like everyone did untill about three years ago when nobody wanted to drive anymore hence how you got your job.

And all of that is fair, and I'm glad I have your long-term opinion to keep in mind. I'm not looking at it through complete rose-colored glasses, I just know how utterly AWFUL it was at ABF. This is like a vacation.

I like it. There is a million different things you can do with it. You wanna work 80 hours a week? Go to hard drives, you wanna work 45-55 come to a place like i work.

I like how I do more than just drive. The other day at work I walked 18k steps and I’m a “driver” lol. I don’t like sitting in the truck all day.

Driving always felt kind of dead end to me until I got into construction. Now I can learn a ton of stuff just at my job now from cutting grade to running a loader in the pit or plant and it all comes with a pay raise.

Sounds crazy but I like laboring the best plus the laborers union has the best pension, I’m going to switch to a laborer when a position opens up for at least 10 years for the pension then go to operating. Laborers have it good at my job. A lot of your day is in a skid steer and the actual labor isn’t bad either.

Also, no logs, very little dot, no scales. Get to work fire up the truck and roll.
