What happens in Missouri stays in Missouri. I don't judge.

No idea what dry freight is doing, outside of the ones that will also load a reefer. But I'm seeing signs that some crops are coming in. Rates are still lagging, especially going to good outbound areas like you live near. But, the load count is way up, so some halfway decent last minute offers out there and they're negotiating upward if you're a good poker player.

Matter of fact, I did yesterday. And thanks again for that. I mounted it on a 3/4" QR riser to take advantage of the peep hole in it's mount, should I want/need to use the flip up sights. I can now much more clearly see that I am 2.5x more shaky on target. I visited a range equipped with 100 yd lanes so I could zero at 50 yds per the instructions. Seated with the rifle resting on the bench, I was getting 1" groups with cheap ammo. No complaints with getting the same group at 50 yds that I did with the flip-ups at 25. Even got to tease my sister-in-law with a range day on her next visit, who is one of the three or four registered conservatives in Santa Barbara CA, with firing something she's forbidden from owning in her home state.

Seems the 1,000 round case deals offered by online ammo sellers are starting to make more sense. I also need more regular practice, and should probably bring my handguns to the range too. Why do I love my wife so much? When I came upstairs after cleaning and storing the rifle, she wondered out loud if the range offers memberships. She's a keeper.

I find myself tuning out whenever I see this sort of stuff, especially on TV. Now you might wonder why, given that I'm usually a "scroll past and ignore" kinda social media user (not that anyone figured that out or really cares). It's because it insults my intelligence. Especially so, when I happen to agree with the position, albeit not to an extreme.

Case in point, there's a local political talk show that airs here every Sunday morning. A (usually) balanced panel talking about newsworthy events for a half hour. It's usually interesting to me, so I keep watching it. On yesterday's episode, they discussed a former Atlanta city government CFO being investigated for having used city money to purchase two M-16 rifles, allegedly for personal use. Although he claimed they were for the police department, that allegedly never heard of such a purchase nor was in possession of said weapons.

The discussion went straight to gun control and never really touched the issues that mattered. Fully automatic guns are restricted, not banned or against the law. For all I know Mr. Beard, the former City official, may have been a fully qualified gun owner. However, he apparently used his position with the city to circumvent the law (National Firearms Act of 1934), along with possibly using taxpayer money to purchase items for personal use. The last two items being most relevant in my opinion, were barely mentioned.

Dishonest discussion that continues to erode what little credibility that remains for any media outlet.

No big surprise that the railroad is unreliable, especially when it comes to delivery dates. So there won't be any cars to unload til the end of the week. On that note, I'm going to go back to the house and find something else to do.
