Dropped at gatorade in carlisle this morning then sent to knauf insulation in inwood wv for drop and hook to RVA and drop. Next load going publix in St Augistine Fl. Got sent to the hill phoenix on old stage road to pick it up. Passed it up because I was so focuses on looking for a sign that said hill phoenix, lol! Sign doesn't say hill phoenix.....gps routed me down osborne road to get there which trucks are prohibited on and now I know why since it is so narrow but fortunately I have oil and gas industry driving experience so tiny roads don't scare me and kept it in my lane whereas most others probably would have went down the middle. To boot a sheriff passed me up but he didn't turn around to write me up fortunately. Followed old stage down to 10 like supposed to on way back to the yard for my break for the night. Now I know where that hill phoenix is, lol!

Two of those big sleeper boxes just parked next to me here at Area 51... I wonder just how much down time they have that makes a setup like that worthwhile to drive... I guess running homeless in such a setup might be worth it.

Last time I was at Knauf, I got to looking around at their bulletin board while waiting for someone to come and assign me a door.

Turns out they had a driver killed last March. Got a notice on their bulletin board about the incident, with accompanying security cam pictures.

I was pleased to a company that a lot of owner ops had that type of truck. A lot of them told me that their kids where grown and on their own so they sold their house and bought a house on wheels. Said they could stop and see family when they wanted to take time off.

Just something to talk about, not Abilene related. Heartland Express bought out Millis Transfer. I joined in on their thread to try and calm the fears down after what we went through 19 months ago.

Easier to park than a semi, can park just about anywhere with those. I thought about doing that gig at one time just for that very reason.

Totally different deal. Heartland will ruin Millis in short order. Look what they did to Gordon and Interstate.

If Heartland would’ve bought Abilene, I guarantee you’d be singing a different tune.

Hes not really "singing a tune" hes merely trying to give us Millis guys a sliver of hope that things can stay the same when sold. Now do I expect that to be the case? Absolutely not because as we've all said the only thing we have to go on is Heartlands 2 previous purchases. But John is merely saying there is a chance, and basically to not do anything irrational as he about did when they were sold. Wait till we see changes 1st which is what we are all doing. Only time will tell, but I definitely expect within 6months things will start changing and I'll be looking for another job.

Yessir. And if it stays the same as it is here, I’ll finish here in 2 years, if not, I’m done now.
