If you run local, odds are that you will have to constantly go into some of the worst places and neighborhoods in your area. It’s part of the job. The people living there understand this. They will not bother you.

That was in the past. The people there shunned the KKK so they're no longer active there or hold rallies there.
There's no more KKK or Nazi anymore; only wannabee's.

We all have places that we won't go for various reasons. Safety generally isn't a consideration unless it's certain parts of Oakland CA in the middle of the night where trucks get hijacked and burned.

The most scared I've ever been on deliveries was earlier this year in San Francisco. I did a 2:AM produce delivery in the heart of the industrial district. There was no on-site parking to check in, and the streets were lined with homeless encampments for miles around. I had to double park 3 blocks away and walk to the terminal to check in through those encampments. I had my tire thumper under my shirt tucked in my jeans. Two guys were having a knife fight, saw a car getting broken into, and a lot of stoned screaming people walking the streets. Never again.

Oh, for cryin' out loud,,:crybaby:THIS is the trucker that replaced me? I swear, it's always something new here. That's pretty bad. Your deliveries are always in the worst parts of any town., unless you are delivering to new insurance buildings.

Ratio of Male to Female in Vidor is fantastic if you’re a male looking for a female..

Fwiw, I worked out of Detroit almost 2 years , made many a delivery in St Lou’s, Atlanta and Memphis. Memphis where I broke down once and was told by a Kenworth mechanic not to go down the street at night.. Was I scared? Nope!

Parked outside a delivery at night in West Palm Beach, FL... was the only time I slept with a large Buck knife under my pillow.. The only time I worried about having to kill someone to protect myself.
