well, i was never actually robbed, but i was physically attacked by a roving gang of sexy strippers in the parking lot this one time.

i do believe 6 out of the 8 of them got pregnant.

it was the court that robbed me for child support.

He should be thankful if he didn’t get a gun stuck in his face.

Not everyone takes particularly kindly to having their sleep interrupted because some ###-hole in God only knows where couldn’t be bothered to do his or her job and advise this driver that they were sending someone for the load, especially if the interruptee has trouble sleeping as it is.

I never trust any body that knocks on my door, but am sure going to see who it is, I especially am if they persisted the way he told it.

I know several people that this has actually happened to, it is real. I even know of a guy that was sitting behind the wheel doing his paper work while his tanker full of fuel was burning. The station attendant knoced to get his attention. That guy and the attendant got burnt a little.

I have had one tell me he was going to rob me, does that count? lol
The op explained it was not robbers. lol

You can make a swap without having to kick off your drive time. Just dont go past 5 miles an hour. I dont know how good of an idea it is to turn your phone off, I mean trucking is a 24/7 operation. You have to be prepared for anything out here.

They tried, what else are they going to do when a driver refuses to talk to them on his time off.
Kind of hard to put this one on the other driver, for all he knew this guy was in there and had a heart attack, in fact he is lucky they didn't break his window out or something to see.

Yo, that ain't even necessary. People are on here giving you the truth about trucking. You cant treat this as a 9-5. Everybody starts their clocks at different times. Loads have to be moved. Fact is, this happens from time to time. Not that much. I wont disagree with you on the fact that sleep is important. You just made this situation entirely too difficult. It would have only taken you a few min had you just answered the knock. Open the vent to your sleeper next time and talk to whoever is knocking. I do that often times and its proven effective.

Consider me in the top predator class. Ive also been prey at times. Fast thinking and talking sometimes soothed the situation. Othertimes knot school time. Apply quickly and repeat until the problem is well, knocked out of the situation.

Robbery has several layers. IF you did (Not you particularly) not see it coming.

These days I just carry, Fighting Krav is surgically removed and the rest of the body is not really up to having a go around anymore with a predator. Just drop em.

The best fix for problems like that is not to be involved with a high threat area or situation. Thats one of the reasons I loved the west and south so much, all of the east coast stress stays there.

Makes you wonder what they would do if they were a doctor or nurse who just got off a 12 hour shift and then called and told they needed to come in to help out, or a volunteer firefighter who won't get a dime to crawl out of bed at 3am in January to put out a barn fire.

I would have rather spent 5 minutes dropping the trailer for the other driver than an entire day whining about the responsibilities of being a truck driver on this forum. Maybe this isn’t the job for you JS

Boundaries are important. You need to find that line, draw it, and let disp. know where it is.

Eld’s have to a very large degree erased my last sentence.

You are in a company truck on the road with their freight. You are on call 24/7 while on the road. Answer the door or don’t idk, personally i would answer it. Always leave your phone on, shut the ringer off or use do not disturb. If someone starts beating on your door, check your phone for any missed calls, texts, emails.

Bottom line is now you need a new job, from this point forward you are a black sheep, Uncle Eddie, a problem! You are going to start getting crap loads & the money will stop flowing. You will more than likely be on a 1st name basis with safety now.

I advise you get with @Chinatown and see what your options are.

I don’t think you handled the situation well at all. In fact i think it was all wrong. <<<That doesn't matter. What matters is what you do from here, and that starts with a new job.

I’m not a fan of job hopping, but you blacklisted yourself & have to get out while you can still land a decent job.
