I drive around in sleeper berth fairly regularly. It's harder now that the changed from 10MPH down to 5MPH. But some tasks are still do able. I would have swapped the trailer with the other guys also. If I required additional sleep because of the interruption, I would have taken that up with my dispatcher later after I woke up. :)

I doubt it has anything to do with sleeping.

In that case I personally see no eason to log out of sleeper birth and messing up my hours.
I guess I am lucky, but if I lay down and sleep a full 8 hours, I hope somebody comes checks on me before I stink the truck up cuz I'm dead. lol

I see it as a colossal communications failure.

Mr Sleepy did not know a #### thing about a drop hook involving him until Mr Knock all night started the racket.

Root cause dispatch tossed a voicemail and went home.

Yes there are long days and nights in trucking, sleep next week and tell us about it after.

When I sleep these days it's either the Law coming through that door or a bad guy. One of the two. Or both. I don't have anything that the Lawman wants so that leaves the bad guy. It would be very difficult should my sleep be interrupted. If I did not spend so much time here (Teasing myself) I would sleep better.

Still undecided and 201 Thank this.

The last week before my last home time I slept from 11PM to 4PM the next day. I woke up twice for about an hour. But otherwise I was sleeping. Had to fly to SLC on my last home time week to attend a funeral, and it didn't go smoothly. Never got a chance to get any cave time to recharge my batteries. Then on my last week before going home again, I get hit with a 20 stop route in one week. Dropping two trailers one week doing stuff up in Michigan.

I think as of yesterday I finally recovered from all of that.

When you decide to turn your phone off or not answer for any other reason, what would you suggest dispatch do. It seems to me that they did exactly what they could.

When you rented the car to go home, did you abandon the truck?

People who pass on usually get pretty ripe by day 5 in the heat. Don't worry they will find you quick enough. The nose knows.

The important thing is to have all your arrangments filled out, wills signed, living will etc, probate ready to go, body is sent to the correct funeral home at a phone call burial or cremation etc. It's not difficult after death.

Where i live death is routine. About three to five times a year someone drops dead. Usually two hours the coroner will take charge of the body when it begins to stiffen up properly and gets easier to move. If I did drop at the computer, then it will be evening tomorrow before they understand I am dead. By the nose. And all the arrangements are settled no stress. And the body will have been in full rigor and beginning to accumulate gases and fluids as well as stinking after the 16th hour.

However the hope is in God, there is no more worrying about that old body. Worn out.
