I haven't posted here in quite a while. Currently, I am employed as an over the road expeditor. I have traveled the continental 48 over the past 2 1/2 years with a clean driving record. I would like to make the transition to a semi. Here are my possible hurdles:
1. License suspension for lapse of registration in NJ. Reinstated right away.
2. Lisense suspension for child support issues. A long story here but taken care of right away as well.
3. Ex-con. Robbery felony from 1997. Home 10 years now, always employed. No further trouble. I was a dumb kid.
4. Accident in 2017, deemed my fault. Unsafe operation of a motor vehicle. Non point ticket. Will fall off my driving abstract in April 2020.
I have been given a no by many different companies. Was wondering if any company that has CDL training will accept me.
Thank you for any and all comments.

Try Millis Transfer; I know they hire felons and ex-cons.
Best to do the online applications before any phone calls; gives the company time to look over the application before talking to you and making a decision.
You don't have a cdl right now?FlaSwampRat and G13Tomcat Thank this. -

from a Millis driver, buddy of mine:
"One real draw for people to Millis, was that it was family owned and mostly everyone is treated like family. Alot of fear about detached corporate ownership."x1Heavy, Still undecided and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
I'm curious about the accident details. Because you will most likely need to apply now until the drop off date for accident. 3 year wait before most will hire after that. But I just realized it is non commercial which is what I was thinking.
FlaSwampRat Thanks this.
