Well guys I went to a WERNER orientation and the mf's totally mislead you.. Im used to a structured company that wants thing to be ran a certain way.. when I went to the smurf there had been guys waiting for a trainer a week or two before I got there..I drove into ATL they told me I would be reimbursed.. YEAH RIGHT>>> Stay away from them.. They cost me $300 for a 2 day orientation and a filthy hotel.. So with that saids im hoping that TMC will be a good fit for me.. Things done right and sticking to their word...!

I heard the same thing, from a local guy. he had graduated the class or two in front of me and he came back just the ####-chat with the instructor. he he did the werner orientation, and never went anywhere, after his 8 weeks on the road.... he wait for 3 weeks for a truck, they then called him and said...thanks but no thanks, there were no trucks for him...

A friend of mine owns a small trucking co. in CA and I asked him about Werner when I was looking for someplace to get started. I told him that I had heard Werner was taking trainees and just using them as team drivers until their training period was up and then sitting them for 30 days and "voluntary quitting" them. He called a friend of his who is a trainer there and said yup, that's exactly what they are doing right now. Not sure if it's still that way but back in January that was the word. If you like structured TMC is the place for you, but you need to be very careful with the words, many things are not stated plainly.

I doubt it, you have to take your DOT physical on day 1 so I think that might be an issue.

You won't get through load securement with a broken hand, I wouldn't think. Don't go all the way to DSM only to find out a broken hand will fail you...let it heal first.

well i went to doc today and said i get cast off in 2 weeks. I called the school there is no problem with me going to school with a broken hand. Doc even said it and long as I have a grip with it which i do i have my thumb and two big fingers. Im not doing flatbed anyways, im gonna do dry van. School said their physical is blood pressure, heart beat, vision and hearing. I guess thats how those guys with no hand can get through school. Itll be for 6 weeks long and is not company sponsored. You can shift the truck with three fingers. And i can grip the wheel with three fingers too. So ill be going monday to school. Thanks for the info
