I informed recruiters/ hr department of my two misdemeanors from 2018.
Resisting arrest and battery.
I was told they did not see those two misdemeanors on my background check. They do have a policy, of 3 years or older on misdemeanors.
There a reason why these companies are not seeing the misdemeanors? I have worked for a couple of companies already and never mentioned the misdemeanors.
Background check did not appear on pre-hire

Better question is, should I just not even mention the two misdemeanors
-
I would keep saying something just in case they show up. That way they can't say you lied about them.

This sounds dumb, but here it is anyway.
You told the company about them, but they couldn't find a record of them.
Did hat company not hire you because of them or did they just not hire you, or did they hire you.
If they didn't hire you because of a record they couldn't find, and you ommited it on your next app, what is the worst they can do, not hire you, so same outcome unless they don't show up again. -
A company is not required to notify you of what they do or do not find. If they didnt ask for something in specific, you should not volunteer it. Volunteering info can put you in a bad light. If you had jail time, yes let them know. Yet a misdemeanor can be from illegal parking to running a red light. No, we dont need to know what your misdemeanor is. The real trick to getting hired these days is to be honest with your answers. Answer what they ask about specifically.
My favorite is when they ask you to summarize yourself in one word. (practice in a mirror if you must, look them in the eye and tell them) "hired"
Dont forget to ask back every two weeks. Show them your interested in working. Employers like it. -
However. Im not too concerned about it. I do hope you do get the work you want in trucking and enjoy it. It is very important however for your company do to due diligence in checking.
A tip, if you hold currently HM, TWIC and other jewelery from our Dear Uncle Sam for trucking then you are not the problem. You savvy?
Roll on. But keep a eye on it.rpad139 Thanks this. -
The recruiter was dumbfounded. I was approved and ready to go for next week. PSP, background, MVR, employment history...everything cleared! He wasn't sure what to do either with their 3 year no misdemeanor policy.
Forget about it, not going to fly all the way over there only to be denied at the last minute.
He was about to buy my flight tickets, but im going to find an orientation closer to avoid being stranded -
I feel that the recruiter wanted to let me through for orientation.
At the same time he did not want to be blamed/yelled at when orientation day comes and safety throws a big fit
