you have to start out as a casual at UPS. i was told it would only be 25-32 hours per week. she also claimed i could make 60-65K in that time period, i dont know if that sounds believable. the position is for feeder driver. you get health benefits while actively working, while in the slow season you get no benefits. you can work in the building to supplement income ($14 per hour, crap). you have to go through a two week training period which is paid. the pay during peak season is $30 per hour PLUS overtime, off peak you will make $21 per hour. she said its a great opportunity in the beginning its difficult to start out.

im not 100% sure what to do to, it sounds like a good long term gig but in the short term not so great.

Give it a shot. I recommend leaving on good terms with the Milk hauling company. That way you can always come back if UPS does not work out.

UPS has filled there full time positions that way for a long time.

That way if the relationship doesn't work. It's cheaper for them to get rid of the employee.

going back to the milk hauling company would not be a problem, he has one driver he has re-hired 10+ times (not exaggerating), but what would be a problem is getting my route back. i have one of the better routes, i leave the route is gone for me probably forever. the other routes, im not really interested in. i know guys that work 12-14 hours for $200. i probably would not go back there if i couldnt get my old route back.

    Focus....
    60 to $65k per year for 25 to 32 weeks a year. Ain't shabby.
Imagine what it is for 52 weeks a year once you're in. About what I've heard. $100K/yr job.

That the easy way in lol. I stated out part time in the warehouse at $9.50 an hour. You will hit slow times starting out but if you wanna make the big money you gotta deal with it like @Chinatown said. If you want a lil insight on how you can do there. I'm retired at 38, I drive a coke truck now because I need something to do and I always thought the soda jobs looked cool (tho I don't drive a side loader like I thought I would). I'm telling you right now tho, get used to #### trucks..... welcome to huge companies.
@WesternPlains you are right, 100k is average there, I was making that years ago. I have made as high as 120k (didn't take ant vacation/days off, maxed out clock constantly).

    WesternPlains and dwells40 Thank this.
