I know buying a used truck is a crap-shot. That being said, is it safe to purchase a 2015 Prostar coupled the N13 engine with 335,000 ml from the dealer?

I had 2015 def that was great for a year, however before it left International remarketing Conley ga they cleaned def filter and replaced egr cooler i bought with 230,000 miles in 8/17 had 355 when i totaled it, i paid 56,000 with 1.5 year /500000 full manufacturer warranty ,and 1 year 100,000 aftermarket at end of factory warranty, the trick is a reputable source, they are the headquarters for international remarketing, they go through the truck and make sure it ready, new tires brakes, anything that gets it as close to new as possible.i dealt with Tony Ramos, great guy honest salesman,I bought my second 3/19 from him keep in mind I paid 20 k 1 /100000 drivetrain warranty.ive had minor abs issues ,blown radiator, can happen to anytruck, but it's made 70k already, there were no promises about this truck accept they did everything they could to get it right, they spent 8k in parts but I still had new tire, retread super singles back micheline in front, new brakes, the truck actually runs great it just has cacer, rust ,and might only get a year or 2 out of it's 0,I would be terrified buy from any used truck place that isnt a dealer, and for right now as cheap as these internationals are Tony's my guy.if you have good credit I would buy 2018 with around 200k with man warranty from them and replace every 2 years I think you can get n15 for 55 to 60 or you can get a 2014,with def ,350000mi for 28500 I'm trying to get one now,but they will be gone fast, this is the best time of year to buy they have thousands of trucks

If new ,per Tony at navistar remarketing. the Cummins has a longer range,I personally don't like Cummins,I think they do a great job of hiding their problems.if I was going new I would probably go with a different manufacturer, the reason I run slightly used International trucks ,they have noresale, just in general ,freightliner is best bang for buck and parts are easy to get,I would really think about Pete or Kw , with pakkar.depending on price,to me a truck is a hammer if it does the job who cares, one thing to keep in mind with a new truck, yeah it's under warranty, but when it takes 10 days to fix. that 5k payment is brutal,a truck that's been running for 1-2 years has bugs worked out and a little more info on quality,

Maybe the OP has learned that, no matter the engine or miles, ProStars are prone to problems from the very beginning.

    Crap-shoot is right.
