I constantly see a packs of their trucks on I-4 and have talked to a few of them. They make a ton of cash, they earn every single penny of it but they are getting it. If I decide to leave my job at point that's where I'm going to be.

@Edwin89 ^^^ these two are my 'go to' distributor guys on here.... been pals w/Mike for a few years. Heed their words; it's ONE part of trucking i've never done. Did FedEx/LineHaul for a few years; my closest to LTL.

    Best wishes, bro.

just remember to deduct 20 to 30% from what ever most drivers claim to make. I my opinion being hme most nights is a good thing.

I'm not a food delivery or LTL guy, but 'rather' local (intrastate...) the 20% i deduct (well, okay 16..) goes to my 401k. I'm not posting numbers, but when I do, they are probably after tax and before the 401'er.

And I'm home nightly and off weekends. Took me almost 20 years to find my sweet spot; it's do'able.

Most welcome, man. FLSWR is new'er to the forum but knows his stuff; Mike is my 'go to' guy in the foodstuffs. Take anyone else's advice... um.... lightly, haha!

Do you have other job types at Pepsi you could do? Linehaul or anything? I work for Coke and I thought Pepsi was better to work for? What are you doing now, driving a sideloader doing stores?

He could transition internally into Transport with PepsiCo if he wants to drive to the manufacturing plant closest to him. Transport drivers earn good money and don’t bump customer docks or handle product. Need a tank endorsement however because he would possibly run a tank of syrup at times or haul flavoring totes.

Even easier job would be a transport spot in FritoLay, which would be a simple internal transfer as well.
