I got the 20918b for 4500 in Sacramento 2 weeks ago and it was over 5k a lot of places also look for oem parts not aftermarket rebuild parts in them if you can

The 16, 18 and 20 all use the same gears, the difference is in the oiling. The 22 does have stronger gears and you can actually see the difference because of the way they're treated. That being said, the 16/18/20 will take way more torque than what they're rated for. I've ran 4000+ through my 18918b and it still shifts like it's brand new.
As far as a clutch, I've used Eaton, RhinoPac and Lipe and they all work well when used within a few hundred pounds of their max torque rating. Shift them hard with high torque though and they all leave you waiting for a tow.Rideandrepair and Collie Thank this. -

It feels good. It shifts really smooth a little too smooth for me lol. None the less it feels the same as my other trucks with just standard 10 and 13 speeds. Nothing out of the ordinary that I could tell.
