I’m starting to learn, a bit late unfortunately, that the contract I signed with Veriha Trucking is a complete setup for failure - modern day slavery. 18 months or $11,000!
I’m new with only 3-4 months but I’m starting to realize that they haven’t kept any of their verbal promises. My highest paycheck thus far was $700 and that’s probably G pay. Supposed to be OTR but here I am running up and down PA sometimes to upstate NY and back to PA.
Anyway I can get out of this situation? I’m interested in exploring other real opportunities where I can actually make enough money to buy a ring and get married. Flatbed - oil and gas are on my list, I’m single so I can live and work anywhere and I feel now is my time to finally make some $$ at 36 while I still have some youth left in me.
I even considered getting a job in a war zone like Iraq or something - don’t mind the “danger”

You can pay or you can finish out your contract.
Or you can destroy your credit and maybe still have to pay.D.Tibbitt, Horus, 70’Nova and 1 other person Thank this. -
You can always try to negotiate a compromise. Maybe they’ll give you more work. They risk being stiffed. Attorneys costs, settling for what they can get. Tell them you need to make more money, in order to re pay them ASAP. Either way, you need more money. May be forced to move on, rather avoid that. Don’t assume they know what’s on your mind. Speak up. For all they know you’re a happy camper.
Just passing by, D.Tibbitt, Horus and 1 other person Thank this. -
"Free will" Thats you.

Anything out of PA is OTR for Veriha.....
Horus Thanks this. -
I did this and it worked. My girlfriend worked for a law firm at the time and gave me this advice.
Things might be different in Jersey, but in South Georgia, this is how it shakes out.
This is what I actually did and it worked.
Best of luck -
Retain counsel and stay the course until your lawyer says otherwise...
Perhaps the company will let you go once they obtain legal documents.. -
