Truck stop towels are washed and dried after every use. Unless you can do that with your personal towel you’re taking a bigger risk than the truck stop towel.

Read this article and perhaps you’ll change your way of thinking.

Your Towels Are Way Dirtier Than You Think

You are trusting the minimum wage employee to care enough to actually clean them. I've personally witnessed from shower direct to dryer.
No thanks, I have no faith the towel in the truckstop is more than dry.

P.S. My dirt I can live with, someone else? Well I don't know what diseases they are carrying with them....

See if I want back to otr I would take at least 7 towels with me for 1 a day but if I had to go with a trainer again I would pack atlest one to try and keep my backpack small.
I just can't trust some of the truck stops I been to and I know people can be lazy inconsiderate ####### who don't care about there jobs or responsibilities

I'm surprised @otterinthewater didn't mention this. Plan your bathroom breaks far enough apart that you can stop the truck and use a bathroom. Watch eating things that will give you butt pee because that is a really bad situation on the road. Watch your fluid intake and keep the seat straight up and down (, it's easier on your kidneys so you will have to stop less).

Personal shirts and pants, what exactly is that. Are you guys going to dance halls and such while training?

This must be why I see so many trainees with the combo half pant half shorts.

I over packed for training. It ends up being a whirl of sleep, drive, repeat. You dont have "personal" clothes time. If you do get down time between loads, you shower, wash clothes, eat, and get more sleep. My company gave us a couple days after training to get our stuff to live with in "our" truck. I barely had time to check in with family during training. Brought my laptop and used it once. 4 outfits was enough. A towel is nice too, but I've never had complaints about the showers and towels in the TA truck stops myself. I would bring the shower shoes though... athletes foot can be hard to get rid of once you get it. Theres soap and a blow dryer in the TA truck stop showers too. Sleeping bag and your own pillow is good.
Our trainer stopped for food before we took off. Get snacks for when you're driving, it helps keep you awake. Sandwiches are good for shift change. I keep pbj on hand all the time. Anything that takes more than a microwave is going to be too much work when you're tired from driving. Keep it simple for training.

Put just one wet / damp towel in your warm dark truck for a slow dry and that is when your dirt turns into a bacteria party.

Bring 1 or 100 towels, it won’t change anything unless you get it washed and dried right away...preferably in hot water.

The longer you wait to wash it , the less likely you are to get rid of the nasty crap that grew on your towel.

Even at home I only use a towel once..

    Bean Jr. Thanks this.
