I use that on anything wood, and it's not bad on bare metal either. Never thought to try on plastic.

To be honest, only when a broker or shipper will accept a carrier or driver produced receipt in lieu of the resident lumper service's receipt. One I haul for frequently is ok with it, a few others are usually ok as long as I clear it in advance. My policy is: we don't charge any more than the resident lumper quotes, and don't get greedy.

Disclaimer: I haul reefers, so probably a more likely thing in my world versus everyone else here. That said, this isn't a frequent thing. However, fingerprinting the load can have some time advantages on multi-stop/LTL loads, or an unusually close schedule on the following reload.

If you're leased to a carrier or a company driver, there could be some prohibition of the practice due to taxes, injury liability, and worker's comp concerns.

I think you are right. Or, like so often these days, it was written by someone who knows more and more about less and less until they wake up and realize they know absolutely everything about nothing.
