How do you unload at a landfill anyway? You scale in and... just dump it in a designated area, scale out and leave? -

Little update. The $400 a WEEK rental fee does NOT include ANY maintenance or tires. The rates are decent to say the least. It really depends on the lane. Plenty of lanes available. $1k a day is doable.
Heres the kicker- they want you to have your own DOT and insurance but run under them- they do drug testing, elogs, driver road test etc. I'm somewhat confused and worried about that. What's do you guys think? That would be an interesting explanation to give at a scale house. "Oh it's my truck, trailer, insurance, but the sticker on the door and elogs are on the company" wt*? Is that even legal? Sorry, I'm new to this. Never heard of that before.
When it comes to trailer rental, you're better off buying your own. A decent tipper can be found for $25k or less. $1600 rental is robbery.
On a positive note, they do pay per ton. -
I have seen a few TTS trucks here in the Bronx when I'm down at our pit offloading our Vactors. The trailers are usually never clean, and there's a guy who works out in the street between 132nd and 133rd fixing/repairing most local trucks in the area, so mismatched tires seems pretty common.
One or two of the cabs I've seen are pretty clean, the rest of the trucks are like a poster above mentioned, clapped out, dirty as hell, half the lights not working, different color fender/door etc. -
I'm still picking and choosing. If I do go with them I'll be sure to report back here so somebody can get the info they need in the future.Ghost23 and Itsbrokeagain Thank this. -
They want you to have your own DOT but you don't need an MC since you are hauling garbage. After 6 months of clean driving you can jump on their insurance for $275/week and $2000 down YEARLY. The 2k is not due all at once but still steep. Maybe better to stick with your own insurance. Maximum load weight is 24 Tons they're super strict on that! I would start out with their trailers first personally. $400/week and $1800 down. Loads are available Saturdays as well. If you figure all expenses youre looking at $675+ Fuel per week. If you can Gross $5k/week its not bad taking home $3500/weekxairx Thanks this.
