Chains hooked to an aluminum rub rail is far different than a strap with a 4” hook.

I have never had a problem securing to rub rail on aluminum trailers. There is no where else to secure straps

yep. Those stickers would have never made it out if the dealers lot if I picked that trailer up new. Thousands of loads go down the road every day secured to the aluminum rub rail. Very few issues.

Those stickers are usually just to cover there ### if something were to go horribly wrong and rub rail were to give in and say lose securement and the load comea off and kills somebody and they try to sue the manufacturer because its not strong enough and didnt hold up. Kind of like warning signs on all the #### that u buy. Where do u guys suggest to put straps if not on rub rails

Like there has to be a story behind the warning label on shampoo to NOT drink it?

On my Utility there was a rail underneath the winches, where you could hook the j-hook to steel. That was the recommended placement by design.

I don't disagree, but I don't think the pinhead DOT officer would be convinced!
