Considering a Dump truck with a Cummins ISX 870 looking for the inside scoop on these engines.

    Looking at a 2007 Pete Dump Truck and it has the ISX 870 signature series pre emissions engine with 650,000 miles on it. I will be honest and say I don't know jackshit about these motors or any newer motor at that as I have a old Ford dump truck with a Cummins Big Cam. Trying to get as much facts as possible so that I make the right purchase.

    I plan on keeping my 1988 Ford as well but looking to buy something newer. I wanted to stick with C-12- C15 but found a nice truck with a ISX 870 for a good deal and the truck looks solid.

    You would definitely be better off with the C-12 ,C15 the ISX has a lot of problems so I hear.
