I thought someone should attempt a serious reply...
I don't know about reliability and costs since I'm just a driver. But I have driven Volvos and just about every other truck at one point or another...
Pro: Arguably the most comfortable, ergonomic, and well thought out interior on the market (I like the brown fabric); very quiet and tons of storage space; great steering feel; the cab holds up well; the best amt on the market, if you want to go that route; good 13L engine.
Con: Less dealer support out West (or so I've been told); Can be heavy; Not as much engine support as a Cummins or Detroit (depending on your area); The paint on the cab is usually dimpled.
Most guys who I meet on the road like them; internet truckers do not.homeskillet and Bakerman Thank this. -
Pro: used Volvos are really cheap Con: you will start driving with your foot up on the dash , wear track suits and flip flops
