Why American Airlines CEO Doug Parker wants to be paid less than peers at United, Delta
American airlines CEO - made more then 12 000 000 for himself
United CEO - 18 000 000
Delta CEO - almost 13 000 000 salary,
But it's average american fault that they so fat , that airlines need to charge extra money for weight....

Anything you put on a heavier than air aircraft adds weight, for which you have to compensate by balancing out or removing something else in turn. Fuel, baggage or possibly, you!Last edited: Sep 9, 2019

Everything that goes into any plane big and small has to be considered, Sometimes with Military planes anything that falls out also has to be considered for balance etc.
The C17 lifting 700,000 pounds in a 100 degree day has the same lifting problems as a wee cessna as you call it. Just scaled bigger. As long everything is in balance is not a problem. Almost like we balance our trucks to be legal on weight as well as keep the ride a certain way for our benefit.mjd4277 Thanks this. -
I am not a very good pilot I have wooden hands. However I know how to follow a map, flight plan, DME etc where and when availible. It is a boost when the pilot says theres the field where we are going approximately the time that we are supposed to be in view of it.
I don't regret not really following up on the pilot side in my life again due to wooden hands but we have a field that is relatively updated and a instructor who has no problem providing basic instruction (Again) to me for a fee. A bit of ground school focused on the objective and then the flight itself. I find it to be a intellectual exercise in problem solving on several layers. And getting off the earth to touch the face of God when the weather is fantastic is something everyone should do at least once. -
With aircraft you have to think “four dimensional” due to the four forces that affect aircraft performance:Lift,Weight,Thrust & Drag.
It’s not like dealing with a Ford Explorer, you can’t just load it up and go-it doesn’t work like that. A lot of behind the scenes work goes into prepping aircraft for flights-how much fuel is required, how many passengers, how much baggage/cargo,the speeds calculated for takeoff, climb, cruise and landing, not to mention optimum fuel burn.
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
With that in mind I’m just glad jetBlue still exists. If they were still around I would’ve given Virgin America a chance.
