    And then the fork truck rolls over it and smashes it, then the location rejects the trailer for trash in it. Or are you thinking you can get on the dock and remove it? Well, the vast majority of places will not allow that.

    Remove it: yes, that's what I had in mind. Do the f____g customers want their goods or don't they!

    If I were dropping off Walmart's trailer I'd have to remove my camera anyway.

    Do I scream at my toilet plumber for making a f___ing mess of my bathroom!

    If the customers are so ***dam anal, maybe they can call Scotty to beam them down their merchandise.

    Why don't people in the shipping business COOPERATE!

    You mean the frickin' forklift barges right into the trailer no sooner than the fifth wheel is uncoupled?

    My rule would be that nobody enters the trailer until my tractor is cut loose if it's a drop load. I ain't gonna cut my tractor loose until I grab my cam. In that case I'd probably grab my cam 5 feet away from the dock then back the last four feet the old-fashioned way: a rookie cone as a marker.

    Millions of drivers can back without a camera, why should your customer (Walmart) make an exception because you cannot back? And increase their costs while doing so? There is a reason drivers aren't allowed on docks, and it tends to have a lot to do with insurance.
    If you were dropping off Walmart's trailer you would have to remove the camera before you hit the dock as you would not be allowed to retrieve it after.

    Might as well ask why aren't there unicorns and rainbows everywhere. It's simply IS. And again, it mostly has to do with costs.

    Who said they wait until you are unhooked? For that matter a good portion of runs are live loads/unloads.

    Heck I had one location I use to pick up at that the racks were so tight to the back they could not lower the dock plate. I would literately back in and the fork truck would be on the dock with the forks outside the building and grab the first rack as I'm still backing up.
    Where I deliver now and pickup now the fork truck drivers tend to be in the trailer before I"m out of the cab.

    Customers I do YOU CAN'T to the dock... now what you going to to....?

    All I do is live load/unload... I've had the same trailer for 9 weeks and I NEVER unhook... the racks I haul are 2" narrower than the inside of my trailer Fringe is shorter than the height of the trailer and when the last track is in the last track is less than 2 inches from the back of the trailer so tell me again where are you going to put the camera. Can stick it to the back below the door . The dock plate will crush it can't find it on the bumper because the dock locked will crush it..

    Maybe you should just lion earn how to back up

    I would then have to retrieve the cam while the trailer is still in my jurisdiction and control as the driver. I would want to back to the dock as close as possible while still having total reign over the trailer, the last possible moment. I would then use a marker to finish the back-up. The customer can't tell me what to do while my vehicle is still moving.

    That cam in that video made that Walmart driver's life a lot easier to me. A backing accident would make life very hard indeed. name calling removed. Eastman Kodak invented cameras for a reason. Artists, Van Gough, Picasso, with paint and canvas were very expensive.If I had my way, back-up cameras would be mandated by law for all CMV's. Period. The government put catalytic converters on your cars in the 1970's and you hated it.
