    Most of those numbers are pretty in line with what I was thinking. Definitely not going to try and make a go of it here in northern Alberta. Cost of land/lease rates are still at 2010 levels despite the economy being on the toilet. I'd probably need 60 hrs/week worth of work at $165/hr to survive lol.

    I'd have to find a place to park it. Nothing over 1 ton allowed in my neighbourhood.

    Yep. Either a one ton or a medium duty truck with a work bed on it. Set up for road calls and minor repairs. Major stuff is say youd need a brick and mortar place.

    @rank just hit the nail on the head. It's a lot more work, but from what I hear, those mobile repair guys clean up better than even the best paid trades in Canada.

    As @AModelCat knows, winter work out of a mobile truck in Alberta in the winter adds a certain degree of difficulty!
