Hi everyone, I am about to do manual oil pressure check. Where would be the best spot to hook up the oil pressure Guage on 2012 Maxxforce 13.

Will tell you how accurate your gauge is, where if you tap in somewhere else it may be out a couple pounds one way or another from the oil sensor hole. -
Easiest way is to remove oil pressure sensor and install the test fitting. Oil Pressure Test Fitting tool number is, 12-889-02.
2013Maxx Thanks this. -

No, standard tools.

@Heavyd If I remove the oil pressure sensor to Put a manual gauge on, how can I stop the truck from shutting off due to no pressure?
-
Why not just use a tee fitting? Put the pressure sensor in one port and the test gauge in the other?

2016 n13 645k miles
Deleted (not sure if a tune could be throwing the ecm off)
for context my truck has an issue with oil pressure under load and high temperature
I’ve replaced my entire oil cooler module with the crank case breather oil cooler etc
My pressures by gauge are as follows
before module
Cold Start idle 40 psi
Cold rev 48-50 psi
Bobtailing 1500rpm 40 psi
Heat soaked 1500 rpm 28-40 psi
Hot idle 8-15 psi
after module
Cold start idle 40 psi
Cold rev 60-70 psi
all Other pressures are the same as before the module change
the truck doesn’t knock (I may have heard a knock one time before it shut off but it could be my paranoia)
or do anything else abnormal it logs code spn 100 fmi 18 religiously over 50 counts last time I checked the codes via dashboard
other things I’ve done
Checked the voltage the sensor was putting our by back probing the wires
this was in tune with what the ecm is seeing
other random things that may be related the truck is pretty wacky with all of the gauges that I believe are ran through the canbus/ecu
fuel gauge jumps around
Speedo jumps around
Coolant temperature never goes above 140 degrees unless I’m in a hill pull with weight Jpro matches all figures the cluster is showing me
(I’ve changed out coolant sensor for a new one and jumped the two pins together which pegged the coolant gauge to hot)
voltage gauge
Air pressure gauges
Rpm are all accurate and stable
so with all that being said it’s strange that the oil cooler module would only have an effect on cold start revving.
also I can recreate any of the pressures I listed above which tells me it’s pretty consistent -
We leave the sensor unplugged and reprogram it for warning only.
