Dude, really? At what point do you give up? I’m happy to hear your motivation to get back behind the wheel, but jeez, you need more training. My family doesn’t deserve to share the road with you.

I get a kick out of, the you need more training. some folks just are not trainable.
It takes a certain amount of sense, and if you do not have it on day one, you will likely not have it by the time you retire either.

To the OP, its more of the insurance companies that don t want to take a chance with you. Trust me some companies would like to, but insurance companies have as much say so these days as the President and CEO.

You may try a local gig like Coke, Pepsi, or beer companies if they ll hire you, and just stay there until those preventables fall off.

Next time, just pay a more attention to detail, get out and look and assess every situation so that you won t repeat early mistakes. Most of all, try to learn a valuable lesson from those accidents

Not to mention both of those trades pay much better than trucking

I'm a Navy veteran, so I didn't have to test. Just showed my DD-214 and was given my "Ordinary Seaman" document.
How can you join the Merchant Marines?

    • Get a 4-year degree at the US Merchant Marine Academy or one of the six state maritime academies.
    • Cross over from the Navy, Coast Guard, etc. Fill out a lot of forms, take some required classes,...
    • Go to a school that certifies entry level people. These are shorter courses: a couple of months or so.

I guess that would depend on location, but they don't even come close here.

If I work driving someone elses truck, which I used to do a little, but haven't in the last 3 years, I was drawing 59 and change an hour, usually on 6 12's, plus prudem if out of town. There are jobs that pay as little as 30 bucks an hour too though, I just never worked them.

And that includes overtime over 8 hours a day.

Sorry to say this but maybe you always lacked motivation to be a better driver.

It isn't an issue of keep trying, it is an issue of knowing when to give up.
