Isn't it still cheaper to not have one at all than one that's wrong?

Many different types but very basically a quick loader has hinges that connects all the platforms on the top together.
High Rails have individual platforms and can be tilted/lowered/moved out of the way individually. Also have "flippers " on some platforms to extend the length of it. Also the flippers are used to build a bridge between the truck and trailer so you can drive across it. But then you have to move things around so you can stow it away for going down the road. Plus the time and effort of setting it up before you load it. It can get quite time consuming.

So basically bout the same thing as a floating nose verses deck boards in the nose.

A quick loader the top deck and belly deck is solid except for a pivot point in the middle. Not very versatile. A high rail has the high frame work and all the decks are independent.
On both of them you build a ramp. Put the 2 on top then load the one behind the cab and then the trailer.
