I have not for one second that this is truck driving & not a vacation, however I don't think its too much to ask for the companies to provide the drivers with a comfortable living environment.

I may only be a month into this, but it sure as hell has been hot more often than not. The rest of July and August should be a real treat. Especially so if they keep sending me out to Texas or beyond. Just remember to keep your heart rate down (it helps a lot) and drink plenty of water.

Don't get me wrong. I hear you, but also believe that they do provide drivers with such an environment. It's your responsibility to utilize it within company guidelines. Remember, you chose this company and their policies. Nobody forced you to sign on and nobody is keeping you against your will.

It could be worse ya know. You could be doing manual labor all day long with no AC at all. This job is a piece of cake compared to many.

Its the fact that they make the guidelines & rules so unreasonable is the whole problem, over the course of the month Central gives us 31% now if they could just bump that up to 35% I could make it work easy.

We were forced into signing the idle rule, they told us if we didn't it would be grounds for dismissal (A few were sent packing for not signing & I think a couple have been working on a lawsuit). I don't know about you, but I can't afford to be without work.

I did manual labor with no A/C in temps I don't think anyone here would ever want to deal with for 5 years... So I quit, why work harder if I can do this & make just as much?

Alright. Shoot me a PM and we can chat that way. I'd send you one now, but my browser isn't liking the drop down menu code here.

our idle policy was revisited the other day 50 PERCENT!!! (swift would have a heart attack)
although we have no temp control devices (ICON,OPTI-idle, ETC,)
seems some drivers are are up around 80 FN %!!
