Doesn't look good in the Houston area. They were doing water rescues from homes in the Winnie area earlier today, 4-5 ft of water in the homes already.

An I-10 bridge in Houston has now been closed because of barges breaking loose of their moorings and hitting bridge pilings underneath. They showed one on the Weather Channel sitting cattiwampus underneath it.. As of 8:20 CST, 9/20/19. It will have to be inspected to determine if any damage has been done, and if they can reopen it or not.

Trucker Path is showing I-10 is open through Houston. It seems I-10 is closed from Cannelview to McNair.

I would check the TX DOT site. Conditions.drivetexas.org

You're right. I was just looking it up on the internet too, the Weather Channel just lump sums everything together in one area. Someone posted to use SH 225 as an alternate.

Since looking it up there are at least 2 pilings underneath the bridge that have been busted up.

Wow, I just got in and haven't seen the news. I have 3 sisters in the winnie area, better call tomorrow.

Well, the farthest you can go, is till the engine drowns out, just have to try it and see..
From what I see, I think I would take some back roads and go around.

Beaumont. You can go around and come back down, but probably not a good idea
