Well I mean... UPS is actually this way, once you move up in pay rate.

UPS Freight is it man! I've been here a couple months and so far it's been alright. Management can be %$#! but hell that's a small price to pay for a job that you'll work an avg of 9 hours a day, making 28$/hr w/ OT after 8hrs in a day & 40 in a week.

Now technically they can make me work up to 14 hours a day, and some nights they've made me go back out when I finish my run after 8 hours and I'll do another 3 hours or so inb4 I get to clock out and go home, but it seems other guys want the $$$ more than I so they often take those runs, which is fine by me.

Oh yeah, absolutely. The "market rate adjustment" is only a good thing. Sure, some of the guys with seniority complain about how they had to "pay their dues" the hard way but I always tell them it's nothing personal, and to realize it's the market & economy and usually they'll accept that.

hmm, mental math about 70cpm times 3000 miles is 2100 bucks but you're about 10% less thna 3k miles a week so that'd be 2100 minus 210 which is roughly 1900 bucks we'll say 1850 cuz I rounded ur cpm up to 70 and then 5hrs times 30 bucks is 150 so that's about 2k a week?!? how bad was my trucker's math?

If I paid more attention I would’ve realized you’re the one who started this thread lol but that’s good to know I will definitely keep that in mind. I work in the NE too. Out of upstate NY but my routes deliver in Maine and NH so I’m constantly running 84, 90, 495 with long days. Definitely tired of it and need to get to DMV to finish getting my endorsements so I can go after places like UPSF

No problem man, we needed this thread for sure! Get that hazmat, it's essential. NY makes it more of a PITA than other states with their extra hurdles to jump thru, so you have my condolences on that one.

I will say though, the NY Thruway is a nice run... I've almost never hit traffic between syracuse and buffalo.. just 70mph cruising down the highway, getting ripped off at overpriced service plazas for bad midnite coffee and bubblegum o_O

if you're upstate, R&L might be looking for folks to run 53ft doubles along I90 between Buffalo and Boston, 500miles along I90.... something crazy like 88cpm so you're making well over 2,200 bucks a week, but you'd be home every-other night it seems... they offered me that run but I was like NOPE gotta be home every nite done with OTR lol..

good luck my friend, get those endorsements!

Yea the NYSDMV website says 30+ days minimum for the application to go through on the hazmat and you have to get finger printed. I’m actually in the Hudson Valley area. I have to say upstate otherwise people assume I’m from NYC lol. I’m about 75 miles north of it. There is no shortage of ltl jobs in my area but yea the thruway up there is typically a nice easy ride. But thanks man I’ll definitely get myself to the dmv one of these days

    1) i've been posting for 3.5 years on many sites, no repercussions whatsover.

    2) Trust me, there is company documentation that specifically states that it's perfectly ok to discuss pay----with ANYONE. i'm just too busy to find it right now, but trust me, it's definitely there.

    SO, POST 'EM.

ALL YOU OTHER BROWN MUTHERTRUCKERS GOT PAID, POST 'EM.
