The ELD is mandatory by the end of this year, so you can leave superior and go to another company, and mr. ELD will be waiting on you with open arms. Good luck with it

My yard move showed up yesterday sitting at P&G waiting to deliver. Worked fine.

Superior changed the personal conveyance policy allowing us to use it at truck stops with trailers attached if we need to move the truck off duty during a break. I don't think it will affect productivity much. Just have to get used to it.

Again, it's the brand new 5mph thing (company decision), not ELDs. I've been using ELDs for 5 years.

That's fine, but I can think of 3 system loads that require us to sleep at the shipper, start our clock and log on duty after we finish loading, then (sometimes) sleep at the customer. Otherwise we will run out of hours before delivery. Unless they want us to OD from the customer to the tank wash. Trolling around the shipper at 4mph won't cut it, so I'll have to refuse those loads now. Never really liked the stress of those loads anyways.

I'm still waiting on the yard move option. My navigation hasn't even worked the past 2 days. Funny thing, I like to combine my pre-trip with fueling when I start my day. I never realized how far the parking lot is from the fuel islands until I had to go 3 mph lol. Hey, did you just get the message about them assigning points to our logs? Enter micromanagement.

5 mph isn't company, it's fed for ELD. Even under 5 mph if it decides that you have moved, it goes to drive time. Can't be edited. Only way to change that time is admin switch it to another driver

The 5mph thing isn't a company policy, it's a federal regulation. We haven't been on ELD (Electronic Logging Device) for the last few years, but rather were grandfathered under AOBRD (Automatic On Board Recording Device) rules.

We just switched over to ELD ahead of the final compliance date which is at the end of the year. Like anything else, it's going to take some getting used to.

I was told it was a company decision, not law. Technically this is true if the law doesn't go into effect until EOY. So I guess everyone on the road will be suffering soon lol. I have a feeling this will clog the fuel lanes even more.

Always thought our Qualcomm was an ELD. Never used anything else. My mistake.

Not in the truck currently. Yard move would keep you off the drive line but no way around starting the clock Delivery appointment will need to change on those loads.

We had AOBRDs they were almost like ELDs. Everyone called them ELDs but a real ELD has that 5mph limit. It does take getting use to. Dispatch has to learn and is now going to see all the work drivers do. That's a good thing because it will force them to change. You don't have to worry about 5 minutes Driving from fuel island to parking spot. Driver very are so hooked on saving every minute. Instead use the ELDs to force dispatch to give better runs and don't worry about 5 minutes here and their.

yeah, mine showed up as well, since we are both out of the same terminal....it's DEF going to take some getting use to! I ran a very tight load out of ATL(Stepan didn't preload, like they were suppose to and took 6 hours to load and it was an 840 mile run!)...I COULD have made it to consignee and 'edged in there' without a 30. But since On Duty ticks away at your 8, I had to pull over and do a 30. Only thing that's going to help, if passed, is the new HOS rule where it's only 8 hours of driving only and not a combo of on duty/driving. Guy behind me didn't like seeing me 'creep off' the fuel lane when I pulled forward this morning. 2mph really IS slow, never paid attention to that until now! haha

I can tell you what you can do for those 3 runs. I was even told this on the phone yesterday by Operations Manager. EDIT YOUR LOGS, is what was told to me. In other words...come out of sleeper, do on duty yard move...go to rack/etc. go back to sleeper, THEN edit OUT the on duty yard move to sleeper. You can edit you logs, just nobody can edit driving. This will help start your hours once loaded. This is not coming from me, this is exactly what I was told yesterday morning, since I had no yard move option and man they really f'ed my day up bad, besides the shipper NOT pre-loading trailer like they were suppose to. Also, I believe the 'points system' has been there for a while now. I ran over, due to Labor Day traffic in Chicago about 2 years back. I was told you get so many 'points' for running over 14, 11, so on. In 3 years I've only run over my 14 once. I called and explained my situation, and that's when I was explained the 'points system'. Doesn't bother me....if I don't have hours...oh well, I did everything I could do....not my fault a bunch of Non-Driving Politicians(FMCSA) want to make the rules and think it's 'safer'.
