Today started out interesting had two compartments 1100 (2200 total) gallons each going to 2 2800 gallon tanks (5600 total) both tanks were at 1800 already (3600). So going by Schneider’s 10% rule I was looking at bringing back about 600 gallons back. And if I go by the atleast 100 gallons I’m still bringing back 300 gallons. Me and the unloader agreed it wasn’t going to fit and he went to get his super who also agreed this was crazy and said they’d call they ecolab guy who told them..... “It would fit”. And they were like no... so a little later someone made the call to just unload 1 compartment. They got lucky in that I’m going home then have to drive past it again on Monday. Asked if they’d have room Monday and told Schneider of the situation and they said don’t worry about it just bring it back Monday. Then I get home and noticed they want me to plan on redelivering on Monday. So it’s going to get interesting

So the ecolab stuff... I like it but ehh...
Week 1 I grossed 1281-take home is 995( still yet to see a take home over 1k). Moved about 3 trailers. I think 2 3 compartments and a 2 compartment.
Pros- they keep you moving. I start sweating everytime I see a preassignment( don’t even have to see the details) I’ve been getting hit with preassignments before I even get finish with my unloads. Most of the unloads are easy and quick. I can do about 4 compartments in the same amount of time as 1 at 35$ per compartment. Most assignments are local. And can be done in one day, instead of spread over 2-3
Don’t have to deal with the quala cause you can wash out at most places.
Cons-Paperwork. There’s so much, every compartment needs a ecolab release form. There may be up to two pages of a bol for each compartment depending on how many stops.
Everything is hazmat so that means check calls waiting on hold and then barely being able to communicate with whoever is on the other end. They almost never seem to speak good English.
Self placarding it’s a easy process just very time consuming.
Also wearing that suit for every unload.

Bottom line is I don’t mind doing the work I actually prefer it. Most times it’s much quicker cause some places don’t know how to unload and 2 it’s good to step out the truck and get the heart rate up. It makes the trips less boring.
But for dealing with hazmat and unloading everything and still being out all week I feel I’m making same money I should’ve been making In the 1st place. I got about 40 more days till a full year of service so it’ll be interesting how the month goes

Theres a form you fill out to opt out of per diem, ask your dbl for it. The exemptions thing would be done through payroll.
