TBH I love the city work, navigating the jungle with a big(little) truck and trailer is fun to me. Down in Charleston, didn’t see much of a difference in pay. Got some per diem but fewer hrs so it basically evened out. And gone most of the week in a hotel was no fun, but hey I was glad to help

There is a lot of monotony in this new job, but I've kept telling myself, "get my 40 hrs in, anything after that is better". We get time-and-a-half after 40 and when I got home last night, I was already 3 hours over, so everything today will be VERY good.
I'm sure @Matt1924 has figured this out, but it's still a bit strange to me, as a 28 year OTR driver, to drive less than 200 miles/day and make really decent paychecks. @Texas_hwy_287 you've worked in LTL for a long time now, and @Kstrong86 is a team driver in LTL, and I can already hear y'all saying, "that's what we've been trying to tell everyone !!!!"Matt1924, Kstrong86 and Texas_hwy_287 Thank this. -
@88 Alpha you know after time once you log 180 miles a day, you be like heck yeah I ran hard today.

Well that was good you was able to help. You was able to go to another state and city and help those that needed. When I was in the city I use to love it too. It was challenging but fun at the same time.88 Alpha and Texas_hwy_287 Thank this.

Yea it doesn’t take much to make good money in LTL. So glad I was able to get in. Can’t see myself in any other part of this trucking industry but LTL.Matt1924, 88 Alpha and Texas_hwy_287 Thank this.

I may have an opportunity to get on board with AAA here in Nashville. Not quite sure yet.
I talked to a recruiter today... said he could get me on the docks for awhile (whatever that means) and then get me a driving position. I did get my CDL A (Jan 2019) but don't have any OTR experience... yet. Don't want to do OTR unless I have too.
So, exactly how difficult (physically) is the dock work with AAA ?
How is driving P&D Combo driver in a dense city like Nashville ?Matt1924, Kstrong86 and Texas_hwy_287 Thank this.
