Do not worry about the future. Only plan for the future. Worry is wasting energy.
I say this as a person who always worried. But than realized you can't control much in the universe. -
Once everything was shot up and blown up and everyone is reduced to walking and swimming, then what?
So much for future war.
And on the server side we assembled 256 people and put both sides into the game environment live. The server lasted about 2 minutes then suffered a cascade failure while dumping those too slow to keep up in good positioning int he game world. It finally got moving again at about 144 people after about 20 minutes paused waiting while frozen. 10 after that it winked out of existence after suffering a comprehensive cooling failure in it's box. This would have been about 2005 or so.
My computers began to burn up on air cooling with room airconditoning about 2009, been running one or two large 360 mm radiator cooling since then in all my builds. Some times it is capable of raising about 1500 square foot of house 8 degrees against 30 degrees outside in winter. The solution to that was to open the window a little and close the computer room door. Winter was the cooling. Summers however were really hard on it here.Last edited: Oct 1, 2019
D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
Things change, trucking has yet to be reduced by anything that has come along, it still takes people to do things. -
However when I worry and resolve everything ahead of time I am happy.
That does not come along too often. Murphy is such a ####### lol. (Murphys law)
One day they are going to be using large needles in padded rooms when I finally lose grip on reality. HA... serves me right for worrying too much. Someone shoot me. //sarcastic.Intothesunset and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
You do realize that worrying about something is sitting in the consultation of Satan right?
Lepton1, Intothesunset, x1Heavy and 2 others Thank this. -
Automation will start with the simple, boring, low paying jobs you don’t want anyway. OS/OW, oilfield, bull hauling, etc will be the last to automate, if EVER. Choose your career accordingly.Intothesunset, D.Tibbitt and KingRichez Thank this. -
That would be dispatchers first.
Driver select your next load Destination A B or C? Can you imagine a fleet of drivers picking runs a-la-carte or lassez faire from a daily board fed by sales?Intothesunset Thanks this. -

Second, even when autonomous trucks start becoming a reality, they will require a trained humanoid unit to be "in attendance". There's now a college offering a degree in autonomous truck driving. You have to know the system and be able to troubleshoot problems.
Third, take a deep, deep breath and assume the Lotus position. Exhale and go, "Ohhhhmmmm!"
