There is no working gear in the "LO" (1st) with the splitter in "high" position...on a ten speed that would have been 6.

Great day you had...way to go, up and down Lewiston Hill dday one...I'm impressed..did you stop at the lookout on top and check out your terminal and academy over the edge? Quite a view!!

Congratulations dude..step 1 complete..onto step 2! Guess you are feeling a bit relieved!

That is why I was confused! It is a 9 speed, and I thought I was in 6th gear but i was actually in the LOW gear, directly under reverse, with the range selector in High.

Thank You! We actually did not stop at the lookout, but I did go there when I first arrived in Lewiston last week and took some pictures there.

If anyone wants to see my pictures, I have posted them on MySpace. My username at MySpace is the same as on these forums, and my profile is public.

I will let someone that has been driving for Swift for a while answer this question. There are a lot of variables that I have not figured out yet. Things like how many miles you will get and how much you will wait for a load. Also if you are willing to go anywhere and stay out longer you can get more miles, which would equal more pay.

All I know for sure is that the current starting pay is only $0.25 per mile.
