Mine was almost as crazy, wanting to escape federal service work in the government at like a low level GS pay scale.

I argued against it for months, I told her deliberately VERY scary and maybe a little bit of halloween heebie jeebies fantasy stories to scare her real bad.

Not this Marine. All she said was pah, we fix it when we get to it. we go.

We sure did. What a year. Enough for a lifetime.

One very important remembering this... thought.

Her job was abolished as was the whole department and they managed to build a computer koisk to serve people in their facility some years later so... who knows.

 

Y'all gonna have to get license & training on the road before the better money comes along.

You or her driving down the road a person distracted smashes into u?? Their fault but you get fired. Later on a notice your getting sued over it even though not your fault but because you drive that big truck that all they see is a easy payout.

 

Turn over rate at your job compared to trucking??

 

It sounds like you HAVE thought about this.

1. DONOTTOUCHTHE401k. If possible, leave it invested where it is or contact Vanguard or Fidelity and tell them you want to iniate a Trustee to Trustee Rollover into a Traditional or Roth IRA. If you spend any of the 401k you will be taxed as if it was ordinary income plus an additional 10% penalty. If you are just paying for CDL school, the $5-10k isn't going to be a big bite but it might cost $7500 - 14,00 out of the 401k.

2. For husband & wife teams look at R&L Gator and Old Dominion Freight Lines. The pay is great and if you get into Linehaul or Terminal to Terminal you won't do driving in crowded cities looking for addresses.
