I'd imagine is quite different from the WE experience.
Do tell.
Is @Dave_in_AZ a dick for a boss?
Does he demand cat treats under the table?
Inquiring minds.......RidgeRunner731, thelushlarry, Lepton1 and 8 others Thank this. -
Dave isnt the boss, he is just a floor supervisor.

No cat treats have been given or asked for.
As far as the difference between western and running for Dave at Landstar. They’re diametrically opposed.
One I get paid well and I’m treated more like a driver. Remember I’m still newish so I’ve got a ton to learn. I drive great equipment and everyone is so nice. Even shippers & receivers. I delivered to place and I started filling out the sign in sheet and the receiving manager saw landstar and she says “oh no, you’re a VIP. Back into door 3 whenever you’re ready.” I literally stood there blinking.
Nobody gets their camera out when I park. LOL.
I really thought I knew a bunch about trucking. I was very smart for WE. I basically feel like a newb. Dave will say (I’m paraphrasing) “Remember 2 weeks ago when I told you........” and I’m like ####. He’s was right.
At WE you’re a nuisance to other drivers and probably about to wad something up. And the pay while good when I was training is freaking exhausting.
So to sum up. Landstar is like being in the trucking industry and WE is being used as a mileage monkey until you either breakdown or learn enough and escape.RidgeRunner731, gentleroger, thelushlarry and 7 others Thank this. -
Amazing what a little respect does for your day to days.
RidgeRunner731, thelushlarry, Lepton1 and 5 others Thank this. -
It will take some time to understand that you're 'it' and there's no hand holding, but you'll get it.
Best of luck and happy trails.RidgeRunner731, thelushlarry, Cattleman84 and 4 others Thank this. -

Engines in particular in big heavy vehicles. Until I came across a group of men manually starting a vehicle by pushing, the weight is approximately 24 ton give or take a little bit.
The Link starts the URL at that time a few moments before the push.
The 4:33 mark is what it needs, the link to that spot failed here.
Snailexpress and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.
