Speaking of doughnuts......you know what really frosts my doughnuts????
Being the ONLY f'n driver at a warehouse for a live load and being the ONLY trailer not getting loaded.
EXACTLY 177 miles from cold beer and hot women.

    I quit buying doughnuts.

I pulled into Midway Sbarro on the Pike for junk pizza with everything on it and had a box of the d'nuts on the dash, fresh coffee etc all over the doghouse (Cabover)

10 miles out on a downgrade a State Lawman stepped into my lane at the very bottom prior to the next upgrade that I was running for (Momentum) to do a inspection. There were 8 of us in both lanes all running according to horsies and weight. ( no governor nothing in those days just a natural order of things) but he picked me.

Inspection was complete but perfect. And maybe he got a bite or two as well.

    Its unreal.

Apps are only taken in person. Old school.

I arrived, filled out my app, took a road test, then got sent to take a drug test. All that within a few hours. Got the call to go to Lodi for a two day orientation, hotel and airfare provided, although I opted to drive my car so I could stock the truck and they reimbursed the gas.

During the one on one orientation they sent me out for a physical. That was an hour of strenuous tasks, including lifting weights, squats, duck walks, etc. I was sore for a few days after that one.

Orientation done they loaded my car on a flatbed along with a small container of parts for the Fontana shop and paid me to get home.

I should set the DOT doctor to unloading freight. See what 48000 pounds does to him... //snarky.
