I'm not technical savvy by any stretch... I dont have a laptop just a iPad and Galaxy smart phone both through Verizon...

I bought this SD card reader so I can watch dash cam videos on my ipad... When I plug the reader into my iPad ( with SD card inside ) I get a video upload icon deal pop up on my ipad but that's it...

When it pops up its blank... Gives me no other options? Anyone familiar with transferring dash cam videos to ipad using this SD card reader or know a better way?

I just want to be able to show the police my dash cam in the event of an accident in a larger picture versus the tiny screen on the camera...

Maybe I need to buy a laptop? 15704029252292377231364137643991.jpg

To me it looks like that sd card adaptor is empty. Should have a micro sd card in there. Could just be the pic though.

The most likely cause is it is simply that the cam saves in a format Apple doesn't like. I'd see if anyone has a Windows laptop to borrow and plug the sd card in it to see what kind of files you have, if any. If you can't borrow one, stop at a Best Buy and use one of their display laptops.

In all probability your dash-cam records in MP4 video format.
You will need to download an app to be able to convert MP4 to a format that your Ipad can play, or there may be an app that can play them direct.

You have the micro sd inserted in the sd adapter which is inserted in the sd reader I take it?
What kind of cam is it? I'd like to look the file format it uses to see if it's Apple compatible.

    JonJon78 Thanks this.

There is a link near the bottom for an app to connect wireless to it for the video.
Says it does both live and view recordings.....
