When I was at a Volvo Dealership in Nebraska a guy there came in with his engine blown. No money. The dealership gave him a number for a trucking organization that gives money to people in situations like yours. The manager said he has seen them give money from a couple of hundred to 20k. You can ask the shop and see if they might know or call a dealership and talk to the repair foremen. Sorry, I don't know the name of the organization. Good luck

The thing is called knock down and little can be done about it, if the wallet is empty. Nobody is going to send him a Com-check for $25K. What advice, what organization...local church? you gotta be kidding me.
Tough ####! He is not the first nor the last. Plenty went through this. Need to pack up his stuff and get a job. No life lost. No CDL lost either. Next time have more money before doing this venture. I was waiting over a decade to pull the trigger and it is better to lease on under someone else's numbers at first, if money is short to have some assistance; fuel, minor repairs, repowering, etc.

I asked both the broker and the trailer rental place if they could offer any help or suggestions. Unfortunately, they could not. Both saying they didn't have any connections in or near San Antonio. I appreciate the suggestions though..

How is paying to have the truck towed and diagnosed, getting a second opinion, paying the hotel and some bills that are due so my credit doesn't get messed up on top of everything else not an emergency?

What kid of truck is it? what is the year and mileage? if you have pre emission truck with low mileage it's worth to have second opinion.

No, I said I had a PM done recently and inspection, had to do a couple minor repairs. Did not use emergency fund for this. What I used the fund for was getting truck diagnosed by first shop that admitted was not qualified, had truck towed again to second shop. I now have to pay someone I know to help me get the load off, "load coverage". Hotel expenses and a few bills that were supposed to be covered by the load had I not broke down

This may sound crazy, but for all that went wrong all of a sudden, I feel like someone messed with my truck while parked.
