Mines at home in the safe. If there's something so heinous I can't walk away, or someone is actually going to persue me, you'll probably read about it on live trucking.

I dont have any firearms. After my little hunting fiasco I sold them all to help offset the medical debt I was facing.
I will say this if you carry, dont talk about it. Talking about it can only ever cause problems.
Some states are a straight no fly zone. Commiefornia, NY, and DC along with Illinois. Alot of the new England states aswell.
Alot of states have a magazine capacity limit.
If you dont give them a reason to search your truck you shouldn't have to worry about it. Dot can search for safety device compliance so out of their sight out of their mind.
Sleeper berth in a locked container out of sight.

Dont escalate a confrontation. It's not cowardice to walk away. However I wont leave my fiance out to dry for anything.

Is there a federal law superseding any local laws under which I could transport my own gun in a truck, for instance, disarmed and locked in a case, out of immediate reach...kind of like they want you to transport your gun in IL when you go to shooting range. So that, if asked during random stop, "Do you have any alcohol or fire arms?" I don't need to lie about it. Just curious, if there is any universal legal way to have it.

Don't know of any federal laws right off hand. Most true bikers have CCWs (99% or better I'd estimate) and there are certain rules they have to abide by when traveling through. Illinois doesn't honor my CCW and when I rode through there, I dismantled the gun. However, at night when stopped and in a motel, it was back together and ready to rock as in an emergency, the castle doctrine will stand. Even in Chicago.

My guess as to why there isn't a hard federal rule is because as usual, the laws of the land are generally made to protect criminals and their lawyers are the ones that know all the loopholes.

If going into a place where you may worry or get searched, dismantle the gun and put the barrel and slide in your toolbox, put the magazines among your tire chains and stick the polymer under the dash. Now you don't have a weapon, just the components to make a weapon.

Posted this one in another forum.

Just put it on your shifter. Drill a hole for the barrel to slide in. That way you always have your hand on the trigger.

The only superseding federal law, Constitution of course notwithstanding, that I can think of is LEOSA, which only applies to retired law enforcement.

I have two permits and neither is good in IL or MD.

Licensed to carry in about 35 states and the one I live in isn’t among them....:biggrin_25513:

    Fair enough.

Cities like Toronto and Vancouver are ####holes anyways though. I like my smaller cities, 40,000 or less.
