i need help. I went to get a new med card today because mine expires Wednesday. I am currently on Gabapitn, Tramadol, and Valium.I have. It have the Tramadol filled in over a month because I do not need it right now. Gabipentin is for pain. Valium is for my pelvic floor dysfunction. I am currently having physical therapy done for that as well. I do not take any of these medications while working. Or even put them on the truck. They are for an as needed bases. I did not list this on the form because I did not this it was relevant. They came back and said they have a data base that can see all prescribed medications from the last 3 months and that I will not be seen by the practitioner. I explained to them that o have cleared this with my boss and doctor. I asked if I got a note from the doctor could I be approved and they said they still would not pass me or allow me to be seen by them again and “ I think it’s best if you just go.” They told me I could see someone else to try to get it passed but I will need the note from the doctor. Is this going to be reported that I was not given one? I honestly did not now there were going to be repercussions for not listing them or I would have. Does anyone have any advice? I have a chronic illness that has recently been discovered. It is chronically painful. That is why I have the medications that I have. I have flare ups and that is why the Tramadol is in the system for prescriptions. I am not currently taking it. I can manage my condition and still work not a problem. If I need to go off the meds to work I can do that. I’m just not sure what I need to do to get my med card.

I have never heard of any data base that tracks patient perscribed medications.
Did they know the exact medications you had been prescribed with out you telling them?
Or did they bluff you in to telling them more than you should have?
Anyway pretty sure some of those meds disqualifies you.
There may be a list for some of them I suppose to curb traveling drug seakers.

    Valium is the biggie.

There is in EVERY state of the USA 24/7/365 is what is called "Pharmacy Monitoring Board" PMB database. EVERY pill, or 1000 pills or WHATEVER is prescribed and DISPENSED to you by name specfiically you in your lifetime is REPORTED to this Database. Has been for years.

ALL American Doctors holding a license to practice medicine of any kind in the USA is required BY LAW to examine the PMB database when you show up for whatever reason at all PRIOR to seeing you.

Even Pharmacists for example in my State now has the lawful authority to intercept your script and fail to fill your medicine. And report the attempt. My state has classified all Valium type medicines illegal to be filled with certain other medications in particular.

The State sends nasty letters challenging the existance of a doctors license to PROVE a medical NEED to prescribe anything Narcotic, Mental Health (Which your three medicine lies in, particularly the Valium) and one other class of medicine. If the doctor cannot stand with evidence in your case then that Doctor will lose the ability to prescribe and is prosecuted by the DEA.

All of this has been in place for years. Is tightened up big time in some states for certain medicines fairly recently. Valium again. In particular.

What you think or believe those three medicines are for, the very existance by database of you filling them and having them in possession... which is a 4th problem on your part.

When you fill a medicine for mental health like Valium, Narcotics for owies pain medicine etc by law you are REQUIRED without exception to bring in the original prescription bottle AND ALL original medicine PILLS inside that exact bottle. In your case all three of the medicines you listed. Espeically within 30 days of filling a script.

Most doctors will NOT fill for 3 months. MANY will FILL for 30 days. Inside of that 30 days you have to have the right count of pills in your possession for Law Enforcement or any DOCTOR you VISIT for any reason with the RIGHT COUNT of original medicine against your 30th day refill. If you do not, you will not be seen, you will likely be written into a database as a potential diversion, sales, abuse etc.

This is not a lecture. Just reality of what medicine has become.

Valium is not allowed in trucking. Narcotics not allowed either. Certain other medicines not allowed in trucks period. Not allowed. Over and over.

IF it is really bad on your part, you run the risk of being installed and set into a NATIONAL database as a problem person and stand to be arrested the next time you make words with your voice I need Valium, pain medicine etc to any doctor anywhere in the USA without a valid medicine supporting reason like a busted arm etc.

These are what we live in these days as truckers.

For me as a pain patient previously Im out of it. However I have a team of doctors who prescribe what they think necessary for a short period of time that has nothing to do with trucking. Heart medicine to slow down the tachycardia until they can drop a new valve into it soon among others.

Your best bet is to be totally honest with ANY doctor you visit. Or you will be denied without exception. You will not be seen. Period. No doctor is going to risk seeing you knowing what you have filled and did not say anything about. Just that one act of silence on your part is enough to have them deny you. For reasons of suspected deception on your part. Which is a series of behavior red flags listed in specific panels against diversion, abuse, sales etc. And designed to catch those who are trying to work around what they think is a dumb doctor without knowing the true extent of survillence on certain medicines in all 50 states of the USA in near real time.

The doctors that denied you likley will write into the PMB database that you showed up to see so and so, failed to list medicines such and such and that they denied to see you period. End. Dot.

Other doctors will see that history accumulate and eventually deny you too. Be very careful....

There is absolutely such databases. Every state in the USA has a living database, in near real time on anyone who tries to get medicine, actually fills medicine, sees a pain doctor or mental health doctor or ER etc, and so forth. My previous post lists particulars. Law Enforcment does have a limited right to examine that database within specific reason. If you filled a 30 day bottle last week for 120 pills, pulled over for speeding 8 days later and had say... 40 pills left against your 30th day refill in a car DUI situation, then yes the Law can examine your PMB situation. And report the capture.

    Arkansas for one:]

This is not for you and me. This is strictly for pharmacists, Nursing staff, Doctors and EMTs etc anyone licensed to dispense, prescribe or administer medicines in certain classes like Valium, Narcotics etc. Even if it is a 1 pill fill or a 120 pill monthly refill etc.

Arkansas Prescription Monitoring Program » Home

The National version is a form of a state secret as a enforcement system. Anyone being listed in that particular one will probably face a lifetime of no real medical care outside of extreme emergency and only for that short time during and after. That database is a secret not known to me with one exception, one doctor has explained to me that if there were repeated problems with the state level, they will put you into the federal version. And that will be that.

Let me clarify. I do not take meds on the truck. Only while I am home. I did NOT omit the meds to get around anything. I did not think it was relevant due to the fact that I do nott take them while on the truck or even put them on the truck. The medications are for pain. I am currently having some health issues. I have everything accounted for. My concern is that they denied me a dot card. I will get a note from my doctor first thing in the morning. And go see someone else to try to get the Med card. The note will specify why I take it. When I take it. Also that the doctor prescribing it is aware if my job and all of my job functions. Is this going to be enough? If still no, then can I just not have the meds prescribed anymore?

Opoid Detox Paper (I have already dispensed of one Pill mill doctor in my state a few years ago and went into a hospital detox for one week and they saved my life in that particular situation followed by certain damages medically which is being followed up on.)
    https://www.chcf.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/PDF-EDMATOpioidProtocols.pdf

    ER PRescribing. A paper overview
    http://www.premiersafetyinstitute.o...ribing-Dispensing-Opioids-ER-Hallam-Final.pdf

This one would be most relevant to surveillance topic.
Data sharing among ED physicians could reduce drug overdose

A random paper for Doctors prescribing Opoids etc based on a overall CDC policy which means ALL doctors to pay attention. In this case PA state... All states have similar papers, I picked PA as a random.

    https://www.health.pa.gov/topics/Do...cy Department (ED) Prescribing Guidelines.pdf

Finally but not least. MANY Regular family doctors, dentists, ordinary practicioners etc such as Shrinks etc will NOT even prescribe anything above asprin. The absolute refusal to prescribe anything has protected them and their practices so far in the last 5 years. My personal doctor who I have visited for 21 years does not prescribe anything stronger than Asprin. When a person shows up in his office in distress, he calls ambulance and lets the ER deal with that. Or a pain clinic. IF they will take the referral. Otherwise you as the person hurting are on your own. And thus illegal street drugs etc.

The Tramadol and gabapentin are both weapons-grade anti-psychotics that follow a careful dosing schedule.

You taking them "as needed" doesn't make sense.

I'm not calling you out, or calling you a liar but, it's possible you've made a mistake or have been misprescribed something.

All three of those are absolutely relevant to driving a truck. Do you know the half-life on the Tramadol?

    It does not matter.

You hold a CDL. That matters. Plus medicines you filled which is a problem for trucking.

I dont hold a CDL at all right now just a plain jane car license. if I filled Valium today every doctor I go to will know about it a hour later because the Pharmcists put it into the database right then.

IF you are going to go back and try again on DOT medical with that note you run the risk of triggering DOT monitoring for doctor shopping. You will need a formal note from your original prescribing doctor with one very important statement.

"You no longer are being prescribed or using these medicines." end of story, you may be drug tested to prove same. Once you have that and disposed of your medicines after a period of time things will calm down and you will be back on the road without problems PROVIDED you do not try to fill or see any doctors for future fills of those medicines.

(If you get this note. MAKE SURE your three medicines are destroyed in your home along with the bottles. You are no longer legally able to possess them. It would become a Felony actually to have them.)

IF you have developed medical PROBLEMS in your mind, body or system somewhere requiring those medicines and a doctor says you HAVE to have them... then trucking is finished. You are no longer DOT Tier One for Federal Commerce in interstate or intrastate UNTIL such time in the future those medical illnesses inside of your mind or body or both is RESOLVED etc.
