Hey guys and gals.I am about out of school. My dad has drove 38 years Yeah he is in the same boat finding a job. He went to a company and hired a week later for .34cents a mile. It can be done you can get a job. Trust me i know what its like to raise kids alone cause my dad did it.My life has been hell. Only thing I got to say is:

    • Your in charge of yourself and to better yourself.
    • If you don't do what you have to Thats your fault.
    • You take what you can and push to do better some crooked idiot will pay you better just keep looking.
    • Last If you don't like trucks and the money you do get then stay out of them McDonald's hires everyday.Trucking isn't for everyone and if you thank its a job that just sit down easy your wrong and should know its stressful. You want an easy job Work in a Car Wash.
I am not tring to offend anyone its just my 2cents. I wish you guys the best of luck.I will be looking soon to but i got 3 place local that will hire me.

The design game isn't a walk in the park either. Regular all-nighters, putting blood sweat and tears into a project just to have someone rip it apart, there are no right answers, most internships are unpaid, entry level might pay a little more than minimum wage, and the work is never done. It can be fun though.

By the way, I plan to go more towards entertainment field. TV,movies, web design, etc
I can't post a link to my personal website because it won't let me but if you check out mrpeabdy1974 on YouTube you will see my trucking videos motorcycling videos offroading videos and a bunch of other stuff I do.

Right now the FAA is taking applicants nationwide for their Air Traffic Controller vacancies. It can be a stressful job but pays very well by the 5yr mark (over $100K/yr possible with tenure). Training center is in Oklahoma. Here's a link below. Oh, BTW, a 4yr degree is required and you must be under 31yrs of age at the time of entrance (which rules me out:biggrin_25510:)

Too late for me to get out anyway...

I got out for 10 months...couldn't wait to get back in, so I'll just take it as it comes.

Trucking isn't all cracked up to be what the Schools & advertisements make it out to be.

    Trucking isn't for everyone.

I was told once that if you made it thru your first year without quiting.... Then their is no looking back. It get's into your blood after awhile.

I sold my truck in 2003 & swear I'd never get back into another truck... November 2004 I was back into a truck.

I just quit again a few months ago... Told a friend of mine to take my 45 pistol... put it to my head & pull the trigger if I ever talked about getting back into the truck... And tomorrow I'm going to get a new base plate for my 379 so I can go back onto the road.

I'm sure I'll attempt to quit again in the future... But I have to face the facts... Trucking bought me a house... Trucking bought my a Harley... Trucking bought all my vehicles... Trucking is my savior! I wouldn't be able to have anything without the trucking industry.

Trucking is in my blood. Step-dad drove... Grandfather drove... I guess it's a family thing.
