Some of y’all that’s been around here a while might remember this pic of my boots I posted about a year ago:
![]()
They were nearly a year old then. I’m still wearing that same pair today. First pair of boots I’ve had to stand up to oilfield abuse and still last over a year. I walked through several inches of snowmelt at Arnett the other day and still had dry feet. I’m thoroughly impressed with these Ariats.

X2, the guys on the power company here turned me on to them. -
Thank you and Ox. So for your situation you would rather pay it at the pump than at the quarter.
I have tracked it, but once the paperwork went to office I didnt know how it worked after that. Best to keep learning in this industry. -
@Oxbow I'll tell a story on myself. Some time in the 80's Dad had his Ohio base stickers but then seemed to misplace them. Missing for 3 trucks and about time to put them on. Him and mom tore the house apart. Finally mom told him, ask jim. He gave here the wtf he is 5 years old look. Well as she tells the story he asked me. I told him I know were they were. They were in my truck. "A recliner that I played truck driver in when he was gone". Walked over and got them for him. No big deal dad. Lol

@jamespmack
Oxbow articulated it well, so I won't elaborate.
But to your point of "additional expense" : it is only proportional to the amount of fuel you purchase. (So many cents tax per gallon)
The only way to reduce your expenses is to buy less fuel and( save so many cents tax per gallon). Not really an option obviously.
the idea of IFTA is for each of the states to get their fair share of the money you already spent at the pump........Not necessarily more at the end of the quarter.
Please don't come after me wieldin' the cattle prod if I left ya more dazed and confused! -
Nope, your good and thank you . -

@Tall Mike
Here are the ones I get. Even not water proof. You have to get them pretty wet before you feet do. Work hogs.
