Question for Flatbedders

If memory serves me right it is no more than 4 foot off the back and no more than 3 foot off the front.

 

I thought it was 1 foot in front and 4 feet on the back...for a total of 53 feet on a 48 foot trailer.

 

Let's see buy permits and be on the safe side which the company would pay for or take a chance and have to stop quick and damage a $800 headache rack maybe a whole in the sleeper. Sometimes it doesn't matter how you tied the load down I have seen some oily steel.

 

On my pipe loads it's 3' off the nose...any closer, it's bye-bye lines......

 

It was a 53' trailer. Had 3' hanging off the back & 4' off the front. I have only been hassled my one state for having a front overhang... And that would be Missouri... They don't like any over hang!

 

Reminds me of one of the films Maverick shows in orientation...the one where the beams came through the truck and had the driver pushed out the front of the truck over the steering wheel...he didn't look so good.

 

20 foot beams can move just the same & do the same damage as in that video

 

Oh...never pulled one, not a flat one anyway.

 

This load was picked up from CSI in Fontana and dropped in Moab.....
Cali and NV didn't require permits but AZ and UT did....

 

That looks like 10' off the back
