I saw a WE driver going southbound i35 today he had a load of lumber and it was a good tarpjob except the back flap came loose and was flapping like a parachute ,and it was pouring rain. It was like he put no bungees on it at all and all the lumber im sure was soaking wet from all the road spray.

More the quality of driver - which then leads to the quality of the equipment.

I learned to put a little air in my seat when i get ready to go across the scales. Ever since i got stopped up in south dakota a couple months ago for a level 3 the guy in the office said he pulled me in because he couldnt see a driver inside . i guess my seat was a little to low lol checked all of my paperwork and let me go. Sit up straight, air up the seat, window down and never ever make eye contact , has worked for me ever since lol

    *Snorts and giggles.

I remember a fine day in northern Illinois, they plopped some billets on my deck. Long ones. Made a fuss about tarping etc. Im a covered wagon. So by the time everything was up it started storming. BAD. Lightning and all. (Ugh...)

That load was completely and utterly wet wet wet and wet by the time the last tie went on for the tarp. And so was I.

I used two big beach towels to get dry, somewhat and then got soaked again going to get paperwork which itself became wet.

Seeing the futility of the entire day I just started laughing. One staffer in McLean saw me coming, poured coffee. I was a wet mop. Still laughing. She asked if I was ok. I told her let's steak this table with gravy fries and give me a hour ask me again then.

    me oh my my my...

To further explain. To laugh at funnies is one thing. But only twice in my life have I had the compulsion to laugh until two white suits drag me away. Its involuntary once you cross that line towards madness. I was fine after that dinner. But it took a while.

It was still dripping wet when the customer saw it the next morning in Missouri. Made some noise about it too.

    Some Trucks were old.

I think it was the”convict Express” idea. Like the officer might get shanked.
